Our target
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. The website has not yet been audited by an independent party, so we don't claim conformance.
What we've done
- Pages are built to work with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator and a skip link.
- Colour is never the only signal. On the truth board, every score has a number and a symbol as well as a colour, and findings are written out in words.
- Text and interface elements are designed to meet WCAG contrast ratios against their backgrounds.
- If your device asks for reduced motion, the animated hero shows a single still frame and the demonstrations jump straight to their results.
- The animated illustration has a text description, and live changes, such as a new finding or a test verdict, are announced to screen readers.
- Form fields have visible labels. Errors say what to fix, are linked to their field, and focus moves to the first one.
- Layouts are designed to adapt to narrow phone screens and enlarged text without horizontal scrolling.
Known limitations
- The charts in the interactive demonstrations are described in summary for screen readers, but their individual data points are not available as a table yet.
- We have checked the layouts in a recent Chromium-based browser at desktop and phone widths. We haven't yet tested systematically with screen readers, other browsers, keyboard-only use on every page, or text zoom.
- The test-spec code sample is shown as formatted code, which some screen readers read character by character.
